ST Engineering and HTX (Home Team Science and Technology Agency) will set up a brand new house know-how program, and co-develop space-based science and know-how capabilities to strengthen Singapore’s public security operations. The two organizations have signed a five-year MoU, which ST Engineering introduced on April 28.
ST Engineering plans to make use of its experience in Earth Observation satellites, geospatial providers, and digital applied sciences to collectively develop space-based capabilities for public security in Singapore with HTX.
Home Team famous that space-based developments can improve its observational and early-warning capabilities, similar to by means of the detection and monitoring of hazardous gasoline plumes offshore. This would give first responders further time to react and will save lives.
“We are continually exploring how science and technology can unlock new capabilities for the Home Team. Space technologies, in particular, offer significant potential, such as the early detection and monitoring of hazardous gas plumes offshore. This capability enables faster and more effective responses to save lives and safeguard public safety,” Chan Tsan CEO of HTX, mentioned in a press release
