HAMMOND — Southeastern Louisiana University has chosen Mitchell Croatt because the dean of the College of Science and Technology. He is scheduled to imagine his new place Aug. 1.

A Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Croatt at present serves as director of the Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creativity Office on the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He beforehand served because the interim dean of the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanoengineering, reporting to the provosts at each UNCG and North Carolina A&T.

Croatt’s administrative expertise features a seven-year tenure as division head of chemistry and biochemistry within the College of Arts and Sciences at UNCG. He holds the Marie Foscue Rourk Distinguished Professor of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UNCG.
Croatt obtained his doctorate in chemistry from Stanford University, and a bachelor of science in chemistry from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. His appointment is topic to approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.
