SK Innovation will enter the global market through its own waste battery recycling technology (BMR) licensing.
SK Innovation signed a enterprise settlement with KBR, a U.S. engineering firm, for licensing at a battery supplies convention (quick market convention) held in Port Lucal on the sixteenth.
KBR combines excessive purity crystal technology with SK Innovation’s BMR technology and sells it to the market. SK Innovation can safe royalty revenue.
SK Innovation beforehand developed a differentiated BMR in 2017 that overcame the limitations of present lithium restoration applied sciences.
Kim Pil-seok, president of SK Innovation’s Institute of Environmental Science and Technology, gave a keynote speech on the first day to elucidate the restrictions on securing sources and environmental rules as a result of the development of the global electrical automobile and battery trade, and stated that the BMR technology developed by SK Innovation could possibly be the resolution.
Director Kim stated, “SK Innovation’s innovative lithium recovery technology can sufficiently achieve the mandatory recovery rate of the EU battery law, and the battery performance produced with recovered lithium has already been verified.”
Gautam Krishnaia KBR CTO stated, “SK Innovation’s lithium recovery technology has superior economic feasibility than existing wet, dry, and carbon reduction technologies,” including, “We will secure business feasibility by synergy.”
