Sen. Booker: Trump is using ‘hunger as a political weapon’ in shutdown fight as SNAP deadline nears

Democratic Sen. Cory Booker lambasts what he calls Republican “cruelty” as SNAP advantages are set to run out Saturday as a results of the federal government shutdown. In an interview with NCS’s Dana Bash, the New Jersey Senator stated, “Don’t tell me we, as the United States of America, have to choose between feeding families and giving families health insurance,” including, “We can do both.”
