
The Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned from President Bola Tinubu’s cupboard following allegations of certificates forgery.
Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga confirmed the event in an announcement issued on Tuesday, noting that President Tinubu has accepted the minister’s resignation.
“President Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following some allegations against him,” the assertion learn.
Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation in a letter to the President, expressing gratitude for the chance to serve.
In his letter, the previous minister mentioned he had turn into a goal of blackmail by political opponents, prompting his resolution to step down.
President Tinubu thanked Nnaji for his service to the nation and wished him success in his future endeavours.
