A gaggle of eight Santa Barbara runners joined greater than 60,000 contributors to compete in the 2025 TCS New York City Marathon on Sunday, Nov. 2.
“This race was about more than miles,” Santa Barbara native racer Karlyn Roberts stated. “It was about dedication, consistency, and the friendships that have kept us motivated from our early morning runs on the coast to the finish line in Central Park.”
It wasn’t a simple feat to earn a spot in the marathon, because the locals competing discovered their approach there because of both successful a lottery, elevating funds for charity, or assembly qualifying requirements.
While eight Santa Barbarians ran the course, the group was joined by spouses, dad and mom and siblings who made the journey to cheer on their family members from begin to end throughout the town.
Every one of many Santa Barbara-based racers made their approach by way of the 5 boroughs of New York and crossed the end line of the marathon, an extremely spectacular feat.
The locals competing have been Marcela Bonneau, Nakisa Herrick, Ida Meomartino, Karlyn Roberts, Kelsey Roberts, Chelsea Frei, Michaela Clemence and Shayne Mihalka.
