At the International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology (IFEST²), held from March 23 to 29, three pupils delivered standout performances.

Nicolaas Steenkamp, a Grade 10 pupil from Hoërskool Stellenbosch, secured a Gold medal, Nathan Moolman from Leeuwenhof Akademie and Diya Zacaria from The High School for Girls, Potchefstroom, earned Silver and Bronze, respectively.
Steenkamp stated that profitable the IFEST² was rewarding and confirmed that each one the arduous work he had invested into the venture had paid off.
“It reassured me that what I was doing was interesting not just to me, but also meaningful to others,” he stated.

Khushi Lall from Tyger Valley College was awarded a Gold medal, whereas Naftal Khoza of Ennerdale Secondary School and Marlhuné Bezuidenhout from Hoërskool Secunda every obtained Silver medals.

Khushi stated that she was nonetheless pinching herself to ensure it was all actual and not a dream.
“Being surrounded by talented individuals and innovative projects made me feel inspired and motivated, and to have my own project recognised with a Gold medal is an honour I’m still trying to take in,” she stated.
