Jakarta (ANTARA) – Deputy Minister for Higher Education, Science, and Technology Stella Christie stated that Indonesia should develop science- and technology-based industries to stay aggressive within the international market.

“If we improve industry without (also advancing) the science, that industry will get left behind,” the deputy minister stated through the Indonesia-Japan Workshop in New Energy and Industrial Technology right here on Tuesday.

She emphasised that industry, science, and expertise are inseparable, making cross-sector collaboration important to strengthening the nationwide science and industrial ecosystem.

“If we advance the science without paying attention to the industry, it means that the application of those scientific approaches will not take off on a large scale,” she added.

The authorities encourages collaborative efforts to enhance the science world and industry, she stated. Christie identified that one collaboration within the analysis ecosystem by the Higher Education, Science, and Technology Ministry and Japan’s New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO) is one in all them.

According to her, analysis serves because the spine of industry by figuring out market needs and guiding the event of a science ecosystem able to assembly these calls for.

“Research and industry must be integrated to build technology- and science-based industries,” she stated.

On the identical event, the Executive Director of NEDO, Kikuo Kishimoto, reaffirmed his administration’s help of Indonesia’s pursuit of science and industry improvement.
