Republican Rep. Dave Taylor stated Thursday that his workplace was focused as a part of an elaborate “ruse” after an American flag reportedly altered to incorporate a swastika was present in his Washington, DC, workplace earlier this week and that related flags have been present in other Republican offices.

“Numerous Republican offices have confirmed that they were targeted by an unidentified group or individual who distributed American flags bearing a similar symbol, which were initially indistinguishable from an ordinary American flag to the naked eye. My office was among those that were subjected to this ruse,” the Ohio congressman stated in an announcement Thursday.

Taylor didn’t present any proof or identify the other offices he stated have been affected. No other GOP offices had come ahead publicly as of late Thursday to report related incidents.

He stated he’s “confident” that none of his staffers “would knowingly display such a despicable image.”

The congressman on Wednesday stated his workplace was conducting an inner investigation into the incident alongside US Capitol Police.

NCS reached out to Capitol Police for added particulars. In response, the company despatched an autoreply that its public info workplace is closed for routine enterprise throughout the federal government shutdown.

The congressman has kept away from figuring out the symbol on the flag as a swastika, as an alternative describing it as a “vile” symbol. But Politico reported Wednesday that USCP was known as after an American flag altered to incorporate a swastika was discovered inside Taylor’s workplace in Washington, DC.
