Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), a member of Qatar Foundation (QF), has welcomed imec, a world-leading research and innovation hub in superior semiconductor applied sciences, as latest member of its group. The milestone marks a defining step in constructing Qatar’s semiconductor ecosystem and strengthens the nation’s place as a regional hub for superior expertise growth.
This information follows the announcement at Mobile World Congress Doha 2025, the place imec revealed plans to ascertain a regional presence in Qatar and signed a proper settlement with Invest Qatar and the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council, within the presence of presidency officers and expertise trade leaders.
Imec’s enlargement into Qatar represents a big milestone in its worldwide development and displays the power of Qatar’s innovation ecosystem. At QSTP, imec’s regional hub will give attention to superior compute architectures, AI-enabled chip design, and rising semiconductor applied sciences, together with silicon photonics, 3D built-in circuits, and superior packaging options. Researchers will discover next-generation design workflows and the applying of generative and agent-based AI to speed up semiconductor innovation.
These efforts will help the event of extra environment friendly digital and power infrastructure aligned with regional sustainability priorities.
