Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for the CSIR-NIIST Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship Hub at Bio-360 Life Sciences Park, Thonnakkal, on Friday.

The state-of-the-art hub, being established by the CSIR-National Institute for Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (CSIR-NIIST), a constituent laboratory of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), is envisioned as a nationwide centre for deep-tech innovation, expertise translation, and entrepreneurship within the life sciences sector, C. Anantharamakrishnan, Director, CSIR-NIIST, stated in an official launch right here .

The newly conceptualised hub will home a centre of excellence in ayurveda analysis, which can deal with strategic nationwide precedence areas, together with spice incubation, coir and rubber applied sciences, sustainable packaging, biomanufacturing, and inexperienced hydrogen.

The initiative goals to strengthen scientific standardisation, high quality assurance, worth addition, and scalable manufacturing whereas fostering a vibrant ecosystem for start-ups and MSMEs.

A key spotlight of the hub is its deal with scientific validation, high quality management and international compliance of AYUSH merchandise, thus addressing a rising worldwide demand for evidence-based conventional drugs and wellness options, Dr. Anantharamakrishnan stated.

Through collaboration with companies such because the Spices Board, the hub may even promote technology-driven processing, worth addition, and start-up incubation to improve international competitiveness and farmer incomes.

The hub will leverage Kerala’s robust pure useful resource base and scientific expertise to develop high-value, sustainable applied sciences in coir, rubber and eco-friendly packaging. Advanced biomanufacturing and industrial biotechnology platforms will assist the manufacturing of bio-based merchandise, biochemicals, nutraceuticals, and useful meals, whereas inexperienced hydrogen initiatives will contribute to India’s clear power transition, he added.
