NITI Aayog Vice Chairperson Suman Bery speaks throughout launch of a report on ‘A Roadmap for Strengthening State S&T Councils’, in New Delhi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly believes that societal challenges will be addressed by way of technology, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Suman Bery has mentioned.


The PM has emphasised the necessity to align analysis outcomes with ‘nationwide priorities’ and ‘public welfare’, he mentioned.


Bery was talking on the two day nationwide workshop ‘Sustaining Innovation: Embedding Research and Development in State Institutions,’ convened by NITI Aayog and organised in collaboration with Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology, right here on January 9.


“The research undertaken at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is deeply rooted in addressing real-world challenges faced by ordinary people. The Prime Minister strongly believes many of today’s societal challenges can be addressed only through the thoughtful and purposeful application of technology,” Bery was quoted as saying in a launch issued on Saturday.


The workshop introduced collectively coverage makers, scientists and representatives from tutorial and analysis establishments. The discussions targeted on embedding analysis and growth inside state establishments to help evidence-based coverage making and long-term growth outcomes.


Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology Member Secretary S Vincent mentioned the state is on the forefront within the variety of patent filings in India with practically 5,000 to 6,000 purposes being filed yearly.


“Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham is a key contributor to this achievement,” he mentioned.

On the event, a memorandum of understanding between Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR)- National Institute of Science Communication and Policy Research was signed which goals collaboration on analysis and science and technology associated initiatives.
