Chinese chief Xi Jinping rolled out the pink carpet Thursday for US President Donald Trump’s first trip to China since 2017.

Xi hailed the US-China relationship because the world’s most consequential, telling Trump: “We must make it work and never mess it up.” Earlier within the summit, Xi warned Taiwan “is the most important issue in China-US relations” and it might create a “very dangerous situation” if mishandled.
