Philly is Flyer’d up for playoff hockey. The Sixers bounced again in Boston to even their collection. These are the best Philly sports photos of the week.

Each Friday, Inquirer photograph editors choose the best sports photographs from the final seven days. And it was a reasonably good week for Philly sports — nicely, a minimum of for 2 of the groups.

The Flyers jumped out to a 3-0 series lead over the Pittsburgh Penguins, capped off by Wednesday’s physical 5-2 win in South Philly, the first playoff hockey game in the metropolis in eight years. The Sixers, in the meantime, bounced again from a poor efficiency in Game 1 to even their first-round series in opposition to the Boston Celtics due to a combined 59 points from their young backcourt of Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe — a victory Edgecombe sealed with a wink.

As for the Phillies, nicely, there hasn’t been a lot optimistic since the final time we checked on them. Their dropping streak has grown to nine games, Taijuan Walker has been released, J.T. Realmuto hit the injured list, and they’ve fallen additional behind the Atlanta Braves, whom they face this weekend. But, hey, a minimum of Zack Wheeler returns to the mound Saturday.
