The Philadelphia Phillies are signing left-hander Jesús Luzardo to a five-year contract extension, according to multiple reports.
Luzardo would have turn into a free agent after the 2026 season. Terms of the deal weren’t initially reported.

Luzardo, 27, is coming off considered one of his greatest seasons as a professional, after being traded by the Miami Marlins to Philadelphia in December 2024. Last season, Luzardo made 32 begins for the Phillies, throwing 183.2 innings and posting a 3.92 ERA. He earned down-ballot Cy Young votes, too.
