Pete Buttigieg on his political future: ‘2028 will come, but right now we’re in 2026’

Former Transportation Secretary and potential 2028 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg explains why he is touring the nation forward of the midterms, telling Jake Tapper: “There’s a different kind of coalition coming together right now. Democrats, Independents, lots of people who normally vote Republican, who agree that we need balanced government, we need some kind of check on this reckless, out-of-control administration. And I’m going to be doing everything I can to support and build that coalition every day until the election comes.”
