The University of Rhode Island Research Foundation (URIRF) has appointed Allison Markova as its new Director of Technology Transfer & Innovation Partnerships. In this position, she is going to work intently with URIRF and University of Rhode Island (URI) management to strengthen expertise switch practices, develop commercialization pathways, and assist join URI discoveries with companions throughout academia, business, and authorities.
Markova joins an effort already gaining sturdy momentum underneath the management of URIRF Chief Business Development Officer Pete Rumsey, whose imaginative and prescient has laid the basis for a contemporary, built-in innovation technique. She beforehand served as Director of Technology Transfer at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, the place she strengthened institutional capability to deliver applied sciences to market and superior innovation in ocean, local weather, and blue-economy sectors.
