Paramount Skydance chief David Ellison sought Thursday to calm fears over the way forward for NCS, pledging to guard the information community’s editorial independence as his firm closes in on a landmark takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery.
“NCS is an incredible brand with an incredible team, and we absolutely believe in the independence that needs to be maintained, obviously for those incredible journalists, and we want to support that going forward,” Ellison informed CNBC.
The remarks got here days after Netflix abruptly withdrew from a months-long bidding conflict for Warner Bros. Discovery, leaving Paramount because the obvious winner to amass the media large and its crown-jewel property, together with NCS, HBO and the Warner Bros. movie studio.
