A joint panel organized by Turkey and the United Kingdom in London explored the role of women in science, technology, synthetic intelligence (AI), and innovation, emphasizing methods to strengthen bilateral cooperation. The occasion was held at Turkey’s Embassy in London in partnership with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office, marking International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February.
Turkey’s Ambassador to London, Osman Koray Ertaş, hosted the panel, which included Deputy Foreign Minister Ambassador Ayşe Berris Ekinci and UK’s new Trade Envoy to Turkey, Daniel Zeichner. Ambassador Ertaş highlighted the rising impression of AI on day by day life and harassed the important significance of together with women in the AI transformation course of.
Deputy Minister Ekinci famous that, regardless of progress, women stay underrepresented in many scientific and technological fields globally, limiting innovation and views. She emphasised Turkey’s long-term insurance policies to extend women’s participation in larger training, noting that over half of college college students and almost half of tutorial workers are women. According to Eurostat 2025 knowledge, 47.8% of Turkish scientists and engineers are women, surpassing the EU common of 41%. Trade Envoy Zeichner underlined the energy of UK–Turkey financial cooperation and the significance of women holding management roles in technology and innovation in each international locations.
The panel was carried out in two periods.
