(NCS) — OpenAI CEO Sam Altman introduced late Friday that the corporate had signed a deal with the Pentagon for its AI instruments for use within the navy’s categorised methods, however with seemingly related guardrails rival Anthropic had additionally requested.
The deal with OpenAI comes the identical day President Donald Trump introduced all federal authorities companies must cease using Anthropic’s AI tools, and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth declared that the corporate can be deemed a “supply chain risk,” throughout refusing to again down in its negotiations with the Pentagon over requested restrictions of its AI system being utilized in autonomous weapons and mass surveillance of US residents.
