A youngster was killed and three folks wounded in a shooting following a California high school graduation ceremony Wednesday night, based on authorities.
Police responded round 7:15 p.m. native time to the shooting in the car parking zone of Fairfield High School, round 50 miles northeast of San Francisco, Michelle Belyea, an officer at Fairfield Police Department, advised NCS affiliate KCRA.
The youngest of the three wounded was simply 11 years outdated, together with two adults aged 20 and 25, Belyea stated.
“There was one additional victim, an 18-year-old, who did sucumb to their injuries sustained during this incident,” she stated.
“This is a very active incident,” Belyea stated, including an investigation is underway and so they don’t have any data to counsel there’s “any ongoing threat to the community at this time.”
Authorities haven’t launched any particulars on the suspect.
NCS has reached out to police and the Solano County Sheriff’s Office for extra data.
The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District advised NCS regulation enforcement responded to the shooting at the graduation ceremony for Sem Yeto High School, which shares a campus with Fairfield, based on KCRA.
A person who attended the ceremony advised KCRA he heard pictures fired as pictures had been being taken in the school car parking zone.
Amanda Prieto, who lives close to the school, stated she was on the telephone in her yard when she heard the pictures.

“I looked over the fence and people were just screaming and running through the parking lot. It was horrific,” Prieto advised KCRA.
Prieto, whose 17-year-old son is a pupil at the school, stated she was “immediately terrified.” Her husband, Luis Prieto, advised KCRA emergency providers acted swiftly, with patrol automobiles and ambulances on website.
Ilana Israel Samuels, of the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, stated in a press release to NCS, “Our thoughts are with the individuals affected and as soon as we have more details we will share that with you.”
