Oil prices pushed larger Sunday after President Donald Trump threatened to strike Iranian vitality services if the Strait of Hormuz is just not reopened Monday.
Brent crude, the worldwide benchmark, rose 0.7% to $110. US crude rose 1.3% to $113.
“Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH!” Trump posted to Truth Social on Sunday morning.
Trump had issued an analogous two-day ultimatum to Iran on March 21, solely to increase the deadline to April 6.
The risk is a stark distinction to Trump’s claims final week that the US did not need the Strait of Hormuz.
