Bhubaneswar: In a bid to spice up scientific analysis and innovation, the Odisha Cabinet has accepted the State Council on Science and Technology scheme. The five-year program, working from 2025–26 to 2029–30 with an estimated finances of Rs 254.85 crore, goals to advertise science, know-how, and innovation for socio-economic growth throughout the state.
The Odisha State Council on Science and Technology, underneath the Department of Science & Technology, will implement the scheme. The Council has performed a key position in fostering a scientific mood, supporting analysis and growth, and linking academia, analysis establishments, and business.
As a part of the scheme, 14 sub-programs might be launched to:
- Encourage meritorious college students to pursue larger research and analysis in science.
- Support universities and analysis establishments in R&D actions.
- Promote scientific collaboration, innovation, and consciousness of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
- Popularise science via District Science Centres, planetariums, exhibitions, and competitions.
- Build a sturdy innovation ecosystem by establishing Innovation Hubs, making ready an innovation roadmap, and supporting grassroots and younger innovators.
The scheme displays the Odisha authorities’s dedication to integrating science and know-how with training, analysis, and innovation, whereas fostering a tradition of scientific considering and rationality amongst residents.
