NYK has donated to help the 150th anniversary undertaking of the Faculty of Marine Engineering at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. On December 5, six college representatives, together with Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology president Toshio Iseki, visited NYK to specific their gratitude for our longstanding help of their instructional initiatives and to have a good time our cooperative relationship. During the go to, they offered a letter of appreciation to NYK president Takaya Soga.

The Faculty of Marine Engineering at Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology (previously Tokyo University of Mercantile Marine) was based in 1875 as Mitsubishi Mercantile Marine School. It is extensively thought to be the origin of maritime schooling for the NYK Group. Over the years, many of its graduates have joined NYK, contributing considerably to the expansion and growth of the maritime trade.

The donation can be used to help the next initiatives of the Faculty of Marine Engineering’s 150th Anniversary Project:

  • Enhancing maritime schooling and coaching services
  • Upgrading scholar dormitories and enhancing the educational atmosphere
  • Expanding scholarship applications to help excellent college students, graduate faculty candidates, and these taking part in onboard coaching

The NYK Group stays dedicated to supporting the development of maritime schooling and the event of future generations by donations to establishments resembling Tokyo University of Marine Science and Technology. We will proceed our efforts to help socially impactful fields.
