BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) – New state-of-the-art sports activities beam stadium lighting was installed at Beckley’s YMCA Paul Cline Memorial Sports Complex simply in time for WVSSAC State High School Soccer Tournament.

The venture took place as a collaborative effort between the YMCA of Southern West Virginia, Beckley Area Foundation, Carter Family Foundation, KindVista Foundation and Legacy FC.

YMCA of Southern West Virginia CEO, Jay Rist stated new stadium lighting is just the start of what’s going to be a complete, multi-part improve

“We’re undergoing a total replacement of all the lights,” Rist advised 59News. “The first phase of the whole project was for us to replace all the lights at the two stadium fields prior to the state high school tournament.”

Two extra phases are within the works and can embody revamped safety, parking, and pathway lighting at the advanced. Phase Two of the venture has been scheduled to get underway subsequent summer season, with Phase Three slated to start within the Summer of 2027.
