“And then I said, ‘That’s a great idea, but you know what, he’s been on the air for 11 years now, let me check with Evie, his wife. And she’s like, ‘Yeah, he’s got plenty of those.'”
Jake mentioned, mocking Evie’s voice, “He doesn’t need another Stephen Colbert as a Hobbit. He doesn’t need another Stephen Colbert as a wizard.”
He then mentioned in his regular voice, “But I know you love The Lord of the Rings. So I painted you this,” Jake then turned the portray round to show it was of Stephen as Gollum, a Store Hobbit and well-known goblin-like character from the flicks.
Stephen clapped and laughed earlier than shaking Jake’s hand, smiling lovingly. “It’s beautiful,” he mentioned as the band began enjoying right into a business. “Jake Tapper, everybody, my precious,” he added, utilizing the enduring phrase Gollum says within the movie franchise.
