NCS’s White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins responded to President Donald Trump’s feedback whereas making an look on “The Late Show.”

During the Feb. 17 episode, Stephen Colbert requested Collins about Trump’s phrases to her within the Oval Office on Feb. 3 after she requested the president what he would “say to the survivors” of the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“You are the worst reporter. No wonder NCS … NCS has no ratings because of people like you,“ Trump said to Collins. ”You know she’s a younger girl. I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile.

“I’ve known you for 10 years — I don’t think I’ve ever seen you smile on your face,” he added whereas she identified that she was asking him about Epstein’s survivors.

When talking with Colbert, Collins stated, “I don’t think it surprised me in the moment of the attack. I mean, the president has called me a lot of names, he’s gone after me and tried to deflect from the questions that we’re asking.

“But in the moment, he is someone who is often politically savvy or tied in with what his base wants. In that moment, I was thinking if he had said that in response to a different question, I think it would have had a different reaction,” she added.

The NCS reporter then stated the change and feeling in that second is one thing she thinks “a lot of woman can identify with.

“I think it was actually the question that is what generated so many headlines out of that. Because my question was about sexual assault survivors and it wasn’t even accusatory of the president,” she stated. “I don’t think it’s a controversial opinion that you shouldn’t smile when you’re asking questions about a sex trafficker and sexual assault victims.”

This isn’t the primary time Trump has lashed out at Collins or different feminine reporters.

In December 2025, Trump publicly attacked Collins in a social media submit, labeling her as “stupid and nasty.”

A month prior to that, the president referred to one other White House correspondent as “piggy” after she questioned him about his relationship with Epstein.

He’s additionally known as New York Times reporter Katie Rogers “ugly, both inside and out” after she co-authored an article with the headline: “Shorter Days, Signs of Fatigue: Trump Faces Realities of Aging in Office.”
