Guided by the UNCCD, the International Youth Week of Animal Husbandry Science and Technology, as a regional flagship occasion of the 2026 International Year of Rangelands and Pastoralists (IYRP), might be held in Urumqi and Shihezi from May 26 to 30, 2026.
The occasion contains three core parts: the Smart Pastoral Future Youth Training Camp on Animal Husbandry Science, Technology and Ecological Competence (targeted on sensible empowerment); the International Youth Cup for Pastoral Science and Technology (which celebrates modern options, with the winner receiving the International Pastoral Science SDG Youth Award); and the Young Pastoral Leaders Forum: IYRP × IYWF Dialogue (a platform for worldwide change).
Standout contributors can even achieve the chance to hitch the Silk Road Caravan and the UNCCD COP17 offline actions, advancing sustainable growth of rangelands and pastoralism by means of cross-cultural collaboration.
