Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to protect educational and industrial bio-medical research and growth initiatives through mental property filings and patent.
Under the settlement, ICMR and TNSCST would collectively protect the unique rights of biomedical improvements originating from educational establishments and provoke seamless know-how switch, a press launch said. They would collectively facilitate the method of mental property rights filing associated to biomedical improvements overlaying patentability search reviews and patent drafting and filing through the Medical Innovations Patent Mitra initiative of ICMR. They would additionally collaborate to join inventors with potential traders to allow efficient know-how switch and commercialisation of biomedical patents.
The MoU was signed by S. Vincent, Member Secretary, TNSCST, and Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, Department of Health Research, and Director General, ICMR.
