The “CBS Evening News” wants a brand new anchor — and shortly.
Maurice DuBois, who has co-anchored the storied broadcast this yr alongside John Dickerson, is leaving the network later this month.
Dickerson introduced his departure again in October.
DuBois, a veteran of the CBS station in New York City, instructed staffers on Thursday morning that his final day on the “Evening News” might be December 18.
The network had no instant touch upon who will succeed DuBois and Dickerson at the anchor desk.
“Maurice has long represented what we do best at CBS News and Stations,” Tom Cibrowski, president and government editor of CBS News, mentioned in a press release. “For more than two decades, he has delivered the day’s biggest stories from our studios in New York and in the field.”
DuBois made no indication about his future plans.
“Maurice is deeply valued and respected as a journalist by all of us and we wish him much success,” Cibrowski mentioned. “It is my hope that we can work together again. We will have more details on the next chapter of CBS Evening News in the near future.”
