(NCS) — A gas truck explosion that generated a “shock wave” in Mexico City on Wednesday killed not less than four folks and left 90 injured, in accordance with the town prosecutor’s workplace.

Images shared on social media confirmed flames taking pictures excessive into the air as folks screamed and ran from the scene in the Iztapalapa borough. Another video confirmed giant plumes of smoke billowing from the truck as emergency staff tried to extinguish the fireplace.
The explosion generated a “shock wave” that broken 32 close by autos, the Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office stated late on Wednesday.
According to authorities, the explosion occurred after the car carrying 49,500 liters of gas – identified in Mexico as “pipas” – overturned by a freeway in the Puente de la Concordia space.
An investigation was underway “to establish accountability and ensure comprehensive care for the victims and their families,” the prosecutor’s workplace stated.
“Forensic experts… are working at the scene to gather initial evidence and determine the cause of the incident,” stated the prosecutor’s workplace.
Other businesses would even be concerned in attempting to find out whether or not the corporate that owned the tanker had complied with laws.
The driver’s situation can be being investigated.
The fireplace has been extinguished, Brugada stated, however cooling efforts had been persevering with late Wednesday.
