An 18-year-old who charged the US Capitol with a loaded shotgun whereas sporting a tactical vest was rapidly arrested Tuesday, US Capitol Police stated.
Law enforcement has not but decided a motive for the would-be assault.
Capitol Police Chief Michael Sullivan stated the person, armed with the loaded shotgun and carrying further rounds, drove a white Mercedes SUV close to the Capitol earlier than exiting and working towards the building.
He was intercepted by Capitol Police, who drew their firearms and advised him to drop his gun and get on the bottom, Sullivan stated. The man, who Sullivan didn’t identify throughout the press convention, complied and laid down earlier than being arrested and brought into custody.
“Who knows what could have happened if we didn’t have officers” at their posts, Sullivan stated.
