Lee Hae-geun, a professor of new material engineering at Korea University, recently won the Best Dean Award given by the Korea Institute of Engineering Promotion.

The Korea Institute of Advanced Institute of Science and Technology was launched to unravel the drawback of falling competitiveness of science and expertise personnel as a result of the focus of medical faculties, lack of primary educational capability in science and engineering, enlargement of majors, and easing commencement credit.

While serving as dean of Korea University, Professor Lee Hae-geun has been sharing his expertise by deviating from the discussion board format of the Engineering Dean’s Council, which invitations authorities officers or outstanding outsiders to take particular lectures.

The award is for transforming idle areas in three of the engineering school’s personal buildings (engineering corridor, new engineering corridor, and artistic corridor) to innovate schooling by way of the institution of future studying areas, and offering new division workplaces, instructing labs, lecture rooms, honorary professor rooms, research/relaxation lounges, joint laboratories, and pupil autonomy areas to unravel the drawback of area scarcity, which was the greatest long-cherished mission of the engineering school.

During Lee’s tenure as dean, Korea University of Technology drew consideration by exhibiting off its excessive rankings internally and externally, receiving the highest grade of S in the 2023 KPI analysis.
