The Lagos State Government says plans are advancing to set up a Cybersecurity Operations Centre for stronger safety of residents’ information and digital transactions.

Commissioner for Innovation, Science and Technology, Tunbosun Alake, disclosed this on Wednesday throughout the 2026 Ministerial Press Briefing in Alausa, Ikeja.

Mr Alake mentioned the initiative grew to become mandatory as extra residents embraced digital cost platforms, on-line companies and technology-driven techniques in each day business actions.

“We are building a Cybersecurity Operations Centre to protect residents’ data as digital transactions and online services continue expanding across Lagos State,” he mentioned.

According to him, the state at present has 109 information safety officers deployed throughout Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
