Dr. Jeong Il-nam, a pioneer in silicon chemistry and former CEO of JSI Silicon, has donated 100 million received for scholarships to the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), his former establishment.
The KIST Future Foundation introduced that the ‘Dr. Jeong Il-nam – KIST Future Foundation Donation Ceremony’ was held on the 14th on the KIST predominant constructing, attended by Dr. Jeong, KIST Future Foundation Chairman Kim Yong-jik, and KIST President Oh Sang-rok.
Dr. Jeong joined KIST in 1976 and served because the Head of the Inorganic Chemistry Lab and the Director of the Materials Chemistry Center. He labored at KIST for about 30 years till 2004. After retiring, he devoted himself to nurturing future generations as a professor within the Department of Advanced Materials Chemistry at Korea University.
