The two UK universities agree to merge from August 2027.

The universities say the proposed merger will create a UK college particularly geared up for the altering world, with enhanced alternatives and assets for college kids, a synergy in its disciplinary combine, and a particular supply for the UK’s future.

The union is meant to construct on the present particular person strengths of every establishment, to assist nationwide functionality and resilience throughout:

  • Engineering and Technology – aerospace, superior manufacturing, AI and robotics
  • Environment and assets – water, soil, meals methods and local weather
