The African Development Bank (AfDB) has authorized a $73 million (Sh9.4 billion) funding for the second section of the HEST II mission to improve 19 public universities in Kenya with new labs, digital instruments, and trendy instructing tools. The initiative will even create three engineering facilities of excellence and a science park, supporting over 100 youth-led start-ups. According to Hendrina Doroba, AfDB’s Education and Skills Development Division Manager, “Education remains the surest path to a better life.” By 2030, 20,000 college students, together with 8,000 ladies, will profit, with 5,000 direct and oblique jobs anticipated.
