Judging has been going down for this yr’s Cambridge Independent Science and Technology Awards 2026.

Our judging panel was tasked with shortlisting and deciding on the winners from an distinctive set of nominees, following a whole lot of entries.

The panel, chaired by editor and awards host Paul Brackley, was hosted at The Bradfield Centre, run by Mantle Space, which helps the Software Company of the Year class.

Joining Paul on the panel have been:

– Mark Watson, common supervisor, The Bradfield Centre;
– Debora Dorn, patent lawyer, Appleyard Lees;
– Paul Hughes, managing director, life sciences and know-how, BDO;
– Gillian Harding, senior affiliate, company business, Woodfines Solicitors;
– Stephanie Martlew, chief working officer, St John’s Innovation Centre; and
– Mike Scialom, enterprise correspondent, Cambridge Independent.

Further judging can also be going down, with Cambridge Science Park director of exterior affairs Jane Hutchins serving to to guage the STEM Initiative of the Year class that the Park sponsors, and a crew at AstraZeneca poring over this yr’s entries for Researcher of the Year, which the corporate helps.

Paul mentioned: “Judging is always both challenging and inspiring. The talent across science and tech sectors in our region is exceptional, so there are tough decisions for the judges to make. I want to thank them for their time and expertise, and thank The Bradfield Centre for hosting us, and we look forward to revealing the finalists very soon.”

Finalists will probably be contacted as soon as the shortlist is revealed within the Cambridge Independent and provided two free tickets to the awards on 7 May, going down at Hinxton Hall, on the Wellcome Genome Campus.

The night will characteristic a networking reception, adopted by the awards ceremony and post-event networking.

A restricted variety of tickets may also go on sale quickly.
