■ The Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) introduced on the twenty first that it held the ‘Research Triangle Symposium for the Gwangju-Jeonnam Integrated Era’ with Chonnam National University and the Korea Institute of Energy Technology (KENTECH) on the twentieth to strengthen analysis cooperation among the many three universities. Modeled after North Carolina’s ‘Research Triangle Park,’ a cooperative ecosystem of research-intensive universities, the initiative goals to construct a region-led innovation platform. This platform will hyperlink joint analysis, expertise growth, and know-how commercialization, specializing in key strategic industries within the Honam area, similar to semiconductors, AI, and power.
■ The Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) introduced on the twenty first that three papers on reinforcement studying from a workforce led by Professor Han Seung-yeol of the Graduate School of Artificial Intelligence have been accepted on the International Conference on Learning Representations (ICLR), one of many world’s prime three AI conferences. This 12 months, over 19,000 papers had been submitted to ICLR from around the globe, with an acceptance fee of about 27%, making the simultaneous acceptance of three papers from a single lab a notable achievement. The papers current key technological developments within the area of bodily AI, together with an offline data-based Self-Improvable Skill Learning technique (SISL), a Separating Subgoals for Exploration method (SSE), and a multi-agent reinforcement studying optimization method (S2Q).
