WANA (Oct 17) – Iran’s Minister of Science, Dr. Hossein Simayi Sarraf, introduced that the federal government will present monetary help to cowl authorized bills for defending Sharif University of Technology in worldwide boards so as to take away the college from the sanctions listing.
In an interview, Dr. Simayi Sarraf described the sanctions imposed on Iranian universities by Western nations as unjust, stating, “Even if commercial and economic sanctions are considered acceptable, according to UNESCO recommendations, the fields of science and technology must not be subject to sanctions. Therefore, the sanctions against Sharif University of Technology and Shahid Beheshti University violate international and UNESCO regulations.”
He emphasised that it’s the authorities’s obligation to defend the nation’s tutorial establishments internationally, including: “The Ministry of Science is committed to providing the necessary financial resources for legal representation to protect Sharif University’s rights and seek the removal of these sanctions.”
Earlier, Dr. Masoud Tajrishi, appearing president of Amirkabir University of Technology, had expressed considerations over the monetary incapability of the college to afford authorized prices for difficult sanctions, lamenting that “the government has left Sharif University alone in these difficult circumstances.”
