Indonesia lifted a suspension on TikTok’s native working license on Saturday after the platform shared data requested by the authorities.

Indonesia has reinstated TikTok’s native working license after it shared data requested by the authorities that was linked to the nationwide protests between late August and September.
TikTok offered the requested data on “traffic escalation and TikTok Live monetization activities” throughout the interval of Aug. 25 to Aug. 30, through an official letter dated Oct. 3, mentioned Alexander Sabar, an official at Indonesia’s communications and digital ministry.
Government authorities quickly stripped the social media platform of its standing as a registered digital methods operator late Friday, after it didn’t submit full data as requested.
“With the lifting of this freeze, TikTok users can continue their normal activities, while the government ensures that the digital space remains healthy, safe, and transparent,” in accordance with an official authorities press release Saturday.
Indonesia is a significant marketplace for TikTok, with more than 100 million users. The suspension of TikTok’s native working license raised concerns about authorities management over free speech beneath President Prabowo Subianto’s administration.
However, Indonesian official Sabar mentioned the authorities wants the data to hint accounts tied to on-line playing that monetized TikTok’s reside stream characteristic throughout the anti-government protests over rising dwelling prices, lawmakers’ privileges, and police brutality.
