New Delhi, May 6 (IANS) India and Japan have signed agreements to strengthen cooperation in health analysis and quantum technologies, additional deepening their strategic partnership in science, know-how and innovation, the Ministry of Science & Technology mentioned on Wednesday.
The agreements have been exchanged throughout a high-level assembly between Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh and Japan’s Minister for Science and Technology Policy and Minister of State for Space Policy, Kimi Onoda, who’s on a go to to India with a high-level delegation.
Moreover, a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) within the area of health and medical units was exchanged among the many Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED), the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the ministry mentioned.
In addition, a Letter of Intent (LoI) on cooperation in quantum science and know-how was signed between the Cabinet Office of Japan and the Department of Science and Technology, opening new avenues for collaboration in next-generation technologies.
The authorities has highlighted that engagement builds on the outcomes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s go to to Japan in August 2025, throughout which either side agreed to broaden cooperation underneath the India-Japan Science, Technology and Innovation Partnership throughout sectors, together with business and startups.
Addressing the assembly, Singh mentioned that India and Japan share a pure synergy in science and know-how, with Japan’s superior technological capabilities complementing India’s huge pool of expert human assets.
He famous that India’s increasing nationwide missions in quantum technologies, cyber-physical programs, electrical mobility, clear vitality and superior computing are creating new alternatives for joint analysis, co-development and industrial partnerships.
Meanwhile, Japanese Minister Onoda appreciated India’s fast financial progress and its rising focus on innovation, notably the large-scale adoption of synthetic intelligence throughout sectors.
However, within the health sector, either side deliberated on increasing joint analysis programmes, capability constructing and structured funding mechanisms to help collaborative initiatives.
