Guangdong outlined its fifteenth Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for Economic and Social Development at a press convention on May 26.
Wang Yueqin, Director General of the Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province, outlined a plan to collectively build a world-class open innovation ecosystem with Hong Kong and Macao.
“We will leverage the international strengths of Hong Kong and Macao and their role as bridges connecting with the world,” Wang stated. “Together, we will participate in global sci-tech innovation cooperation.”
Guangdong will appeal to extra analysis establishments, multinational firms, and enterprise capital companies to set up a presence or arrange branches within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The area will collectively launch or participate in worldwide large-scale science applications and main science initiatives, and deeply have interaction within the Belt and Road Science, Technology and Innovation Cooperation Action Plan.
On expertise improvement, the three sides will promote coordinated expertise attraction and nurturing, and collectively build a high-level expertise hub.
