Rolando O. Santos, who earned his Ph.D. in marine biology and fisheries on the University of Miami, is a marine ecologist whose analysis focuses on how habitat change and seascape construction affect the motion, distribution, and resilience of coastal species. He leads the Santos Seascape Ecology Lab at Florida International University, the place his work integrates seascape/panorama ecology, animal motion, and trophic ecology to tell conservation, administration, and restoration throughout the ridge-to-reef continuum. His analysis spans mangroves, seagrass meadows, coral reefs, and tropical aquatic programs in South Florida and the Caribbean, with a specific emphasis on utilized, solutions-oriented science that helps fisheries sustainability, habitat restoration, and local weather resilience. He is from Puerto Rico and is fluent in Spanish.
