The FBI is serving search warrants at the Los Angeles Unified School District’s headquarters and the superintendent’s home.

Federal officers in Los Angeles had been serving the search warrants Wednesday as a part of an ongoing investigation, based on an individual aware of the investigation who spoke on situation of anonymity to debate the probe. The nature of the investigation and what allegations had been being examined was not instantly clear.

Alberto Carvalho has been superintendent of the nation’s second-largest college district since February 2022. The sprawling district, which covers greater than two dozen cities, has greater than 500,000 college students.

This is a growing story and might be up to date.
