Exclusive: Colombian president says oil, not medicine, ‘at the heart of’ US pressure on Venezuela

In a uncommon and wide-ranging unique interview with NCS’s Isa Soares, Colombian President Gustavo Petro mentioned rising tensions alongside the coast of neighboring Venezuela as the United States continues to ramp up navy exercise in the area. Petro additionally addressed accusations that cocaine manufacturing in Colombia has exploded below his administration and the fraught relationship he has with US President Donald Trump.
