Don Lemon says he has what it takes to be president.

The former NCS anchor instructed Alex Wagner on the “Pod Save America” he believes he might do a greater job working the nation than President Donald Trump — and hasn’t dominated out a bid for the White House.

“I think I could be president of the United States,” he boasted.

“Do I ever think about it? Yes. Could it happen? Yeah, it could happen if the opportunity presented itself, the right opportunity presented itself. Look, if I wanted to … I know people are going to think I’m crazy,” Lemon continued.

“I could definitely run this country better than Donald Trump,” he added, with out elaborating on what he would do otherwise.

For now, Lemon mentioned a presidential run isn’t on the speedy horizon. However, that didn’t cease him from drawing a comparability between himself and former President Barack Obama.

“Did anybody think Barack Obama, as he says, this guy with a funny name is from a mixed background, did anybody ever think that he would become president, that he had that aspiration?” he mentioned.

“I don’t have an aspiration to become president, but I do think that I could run this country a lot better than Donald Trump.”

Lemon added, “Look, why can’t I think about running for office? Why can’t I think about being president of the United States when I look at what we have?”

Lemon’s tenure at NCS got here to an finish in 2023 after 17 years on the community. He has since moved to YouTube, the place he hosts The Don Lemon Show.
