Professor Dr Mohammad Hanif Murad has been appointed the primary Vice-Chancellor of Laxmipur Science and Technology University (LSTU) for a four-year time period following the federal government’s approval of the brand new public college.

The appointment was confirmed by means of a gazette notification issued on Sunday by the Secondary and Higher Education Division below the Ministry of Education. The notification was signed by Assistant Secretary Md Shah Alam Siraj on behalf of the President.

Dr Hanif, a professor of Applied Mathematics and former Treasurer of Noakhali Science and Technology University, has been relieved of his duties as Treasurer of the college to take up the brand new project with the approval of the President, who serves as Chancellor of public universities.

The appointment follows the current approval of Laxmipur Science and Technology University by the Cabinet.

According to the notification, Dr Hanif will function Vice-Chancellor for 4 years from the date of becoming a member of or till reaching the age of retirement, whichever comes first.

The notification additionally states that he’ll function the college’s chief govt officer and stay stationed on the campus full-time. The President and Chancellor retain the authority to revoke the appointment at any time if deemed vital.
