David Sacks has left his function as White House particular advisor for AI and crypto and shifted to a brand new function as co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST).
“In the first year of the Trump administration, I had a role as an SGE [special government employee] that was, I had 130 days. We’ve now used up that time,” Sacks advised Bloomberg Television Thursday (March 26).
“I think moving forward as co-chair of PCAST I can now make recommendations on not just AI but an expanded range of technology topics,” Sacks stated. “So, yes, this is how I’ll be involved moving forward.”
The White House introduced Wednesday (March 25) that President Donald Trump appointed 13 tech leaders to PCAST and that PCAST can be co-chaired by Sacks and Michael Kratsios, director of the White House Office of Science & Technology Policy and assistant to the President for Science & Technology.

PCAST is an advisory committee targeted on strengthening American management in science and innovation, the White House stated in a press launch.
“Under President Trump, PCAST will focus on topics related to the opportunities and challenges that emerging technologies present to the American workforce, and ensuring all Americans thrive in the Golden Age of Innovation,” the discharge stated.

Trump introduced the institution of PCAST in a January 2025 presidential action, highlighting the necessity for American dominance in transformative applied sciences resembling AI, quantum computing and superior biotechnology.
