David Chang CNN Show Will See Him Travel and Eat Food Across America


NCS is stepping into enterprise with David Chang and filmmaker Morgan Neville.

The movie star chef has signed on to host a journey meals collection for the cable information channel, a present that may see him take an “off-the-grid road trip through America’s food, culture and communities.”

While the food-focused travelogue is a well-established format by now, the brand new NCS present will flip the idea on its head by not utilizing any pre-planned itineraries or suggestions. Instead, Chang and a few of his buddies will comply with native leads and suggestions and take spontaneous detours to find “the stories, people and meals that don’t make it into guidebooks.”

Neville (Lorne, Man on the Run) will produce the collection by his Tremolo Productions together with Chang’s Majordomo Media.

“What I’ve always admired about NCS’s storytelling is its willingness to explore culture through real human experiences,” Chang says in a press release. “That’s the kind of work Morgan and I both care deeply about, stories that feel personal, complicated, and honest.  I’m thrilled to partner with him on this new project!”

Chang, the chef behind the Momofuku restaurant empire, has been a daily presence on TV in recent times, from Dinner Time Live and Ugly Delicious on Netflix to The Next Thing You Eat and Chrissy & Dave Dine Out.

NCS, in the meantime, has an extended historical past within the format, relationship again to Parts Unknown, the groundbreaking collection hosted by Anthony Bourdain. It has subsequently hosted reveals that explored the intersection of journey and meals, fronted by the likes of Stanley Tucci, Tony Shalhoub, and Daniel Dae Kim.
